We hosted Noh Mask Exhibition "Jiiji's Noh Mask" at Imakumano Kannon-ji Temple, Kyoto.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who came to visit.
We hope that you were able to appreciate the various expressions of the Noh masks and the "beauty of the blank spaces" that surrounded the temple grounds, along with the pure air and colorful autumn leaves.

Thanks to the many visitors who joined us, the exhibition concluded successfully.I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who attended, to the members of Imakumano Kannonji Temple for generously offering the venue, and to all those involved who supported the exhibition.
For this exhibition, we deliberately chose a temple setting rather than a conventional gallery space. This decision was rooted in the desire to allow visitors to experience the spiritual depth, the layering of time, and the quiet presence inherent in Noh masks—not as isolated objects, but as part of an immersive spatial environment.
As a scenographer, I was involved from the initial stage of venue selection and oversaw the spatial design and overall production, including circulation planning, exhibition rhythm, the modulation of natural light, sightlines, and the relationship between the works and the surrounding landscape. The temple’s pure atmosphere and the autumn foliage coloring the grounds resonated deeply with the expressions of the Noh masks, drawing out their qualities in a profound and subtle way.
Rather than simply “viewing an exhibition,” visitors were invited to encounter the Noh masks within space.
Through shaping this experience, I believe we were able to realize a highly refined exhibition in which the works, the place, and the season came together as one.
Moving forward, I will continue to pursue exhibition-making that designs space itself, in order to bring out the essential qualities of each work to their fullest.
We will be continuing the small version of "Jiiji's Noh Mask" Exhibition at Gallery Rin from Friday, December 5th to Friday, December 19th. Please come and visit us. The gallery is open weekdays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
