Shigaraki white porcelain pot by TaniQ

A work by TaniQ, a ceramic artist based in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture. TaniQ has been exploring the firing methods of Shigaraki ware and old Shigaraki for over 10 years, producing works using an anagama kiln.

This is a pot made of white porcelain and fired using glaze. This work uses glaze, which is rare among Mr. Tani's works. Mr. Tani's new attempt is to explore the firing temperature of the kiln and the method of penetration. This piece is enchanting with its beautiful form and fine penetration. You can match it with either the alcove of a Japanese-style room or the interior of a Western-style room.
